Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Full Charge Bookkeeper?

Full Charge Bookkeepers handle the full cycle of a business’ accounting duties. At times, we may supervise others in basic tasks like accounts payable. We code and enter vendor and expense invoices, run checks, bill customers and clients, and prepare bank deposits, ensuring that the correct general ledger accounts are debited or credited accordingly.

We also process employee timesheets, run payroll checks and may prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns. A full charge bookkeeper carefully monitors and maintains a company’s banking activities, including reconciling monthly bank statements and cash flow.

What experience/qualifications do you have?

I have a four-year degree in Accounting from Empire State College and a two-year degree in Business Administration from Hudson Valley Community College.

What software and tools do you use?

I enlist the help of Intuit QuickBooks financial software as well as the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) to best serve my clients’ needs.

Do you offer a free initial consultation?

Yes, I do. During that consultation we will discuss your bookkeeping needs, how I would be able to help your business, and a potential fee structure. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about my services and experience.

How are your fees structured?

My fees are based on the amount of time necessary to complete a project, which in turn is shaped by each client’s requirements. Depending on the project, hourly or set fees may be available. We can discuss fees in my free initial consultation with you.

Do you travel to client premises?

I do, provided my clients are within a fifty-mile radius of Schenectady. Please ask about my reasonable travel charges if you are outside the radius.

When can you be reached?

You can reach me Monday-Friday, from 8am to 5pm. To reach me after normal business hours, please call or email and I will respond as soon as I can.
